Technology

You have probably seen for yourself that modern technology can make your life easier. But you may not realize the ways in which technology has transformed dentistry!

In recent years, dental technology, techniques, and materials have improved dramatically. Today, we use these advances at Conestee Family Dental to streamline many procedures you're familiar with, like x-rays, and make your dental care comfortable and stress-free.

We believe an investment in technology is an investment in you and your continuing excellent oral health. Please take a moment to browse through some of the equipment we offer, then call us to make an appointment so you can see for yourself the difference our technology makes.

Nitrous Oxide

If you deal with dental anxiety, you are probably tempted to postpone visits or avoid them completely, but dental problems always catch up with you eventually. It’s best to keep up with appointments for exams and cleanings so you don’t develop problems in the first place.

We are pleased to offer our patients the benefits of light sedation with nitrous oxide. You inhale the odorless gas through a comfortable nasal mask, and as you do, you will immediately start to feel calm and relaxed. You won’t go to sleep, but you will feel dreamy and detached from all the noises and activity around you.

Our busy patients appreciate that there are no after effects with nitrous oxide, so you won't need a driver, and you will be able to go on with your usual daily routine immediately after your appointment.

Digital X-Rays

At Conestee Family Dental, x-rays are a valuable diagnostic tool because they allow us to see deep inside your teeth and under your gums where problems often develop. One of the most important advances in dental technology recently is the availability of digital imaging, an advanced method of taking x-rays.

Many of our patients are concerned with the amount of radiation they are exposed to, and some estimates indicate that compared to older film x-rays, digital x-rays expose you to about 90% less radiation.

In addition to being safer, they are more comfortable. Instead of having to bite down on uncomfortable dental films, digital x-rays use a digital sensor, a small, flat device that sends high-resolution images to your chairside monitor for easy viewing. As part of your treatment planning, our doctors will review the images with you so you can see problem areas for yourself and understand why treatment is necessary.

Since all your x-rays are securely stored on our in-house network, we can easily access them for future reference or to send them to specialists or insurance companies.

Intraoral Cameras

At Conestee Family Dental, our team works hard to create trusting relationships with all our patients. One way we do this is through the sharing of essential information. You deserve to be an active participant in your dental care, and intraoral cameras help you do that.

An Intraoral camera is a state-of-the-art piece of technology that allows our doctors to show you exactly what they see when performing an exam. The camera is a small instrument that fits comfortably in your mouth and provides a detailed, real-time view that’s displayed on your chairside monitor. Involving you in the process allows you to participate actively in your treatment instead of being a bystander.

Rotary Endodontics

Root canal therapy is one of the most misunderstood procedures in dentistry. Many patients associate root canals with pain because by the time they see a dentist, a painful infection has developed deep inside the tooth. In reality, root canal treatment (endodontics) provides relief by eliminating the infection that causes the pain.

At Conestee Family Dental, we understand your concerns and want to streamline the process as much as possible for your comfort. We have chosen to invest in rotary endodontics because root canals that used to take three hours can now be completed in about half the time.

In addition to minimizing the time you need to spend in the dental chair, rotary endodontic technology ensures that your root canal is safer, more predictable, and provides you with long-lasting relief.

Digital Records

The information we gather during your visits allows us to create an accurate history of your ongoing dental health. It’s important to have quick access to these details so we can refer to them as needed during treatment.

At Conestee Family Dental, we are pleased to use digital patient records where all your history is stored securely on our in-house network. Your information is protected and can easily be shared with your insurance company or specialists.
